Every year the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) has a convention. Last year was in Chicago, this year it was New Orleans. Sad to admit, but I have never visited New Orleans. The convention was for 4 days, Friday to Monday, at the Morial Convention Center right on the Mississippi.

Also
a first experience - going to a Casino. Strange but true, I have
never been lured by the flashing lights and empty promises of
a Casino visit although there are several near Ithaca (Niagara
Falls and Syracuse). I just spent $10 on slots, won $40 but played
all the winnings so I felt that it was worth $10 for a few hours
of entertainment. Very surreal experience.
The
speaker this year was General Norman Schwarzkopf, a very eloquent
speaker and surprisingly bi-partisan. His speech was on Leadership
and he used many anecdotes from his time as General on how leaders
should handle responsibility: When placed in command, act decisively
was one motto. From this photo you can tell that I was not too
close to the stage so most of my viewing was on the SONY Trinitron
screen. OK I did have other photos from Bourbon Street which I am not posting on this website. This one is of Poydras Street which took me from my hotel directly to the Convention Center. I would like to visit again when I have more time for fun and less time for work.
